Our natural resources will be pure and available for us and future generations by acting more conscientiously in present-day. What ways can you contribute to a better planet, or rather, sustaining what purity remains? There are MANY ways you can do this. It doesn't always have to be one grand act. Do something small consistently.
Here are several ideas to trigger that creative wrinkly sponge inside that head of yours:
1. Pick up liter that crosses your path.
Weekly Goal Idea:
a) Sort this collection into trash and recycle components, then actually put them in their place.
b) Fill one of those plastic grocery sacks (or used paper coffee cup or dirty sandwich bag, etc.) with found liter, and
dispose of it responsibly.
2. Take a technology break.
Weekly Goal Idea:
a) Dedicate a deliberate 30-60 minute block of time each day where you completely disconnect. With practice,
you'll find a great use of this time.
b) Carve out 5 minutes of your daily lunch break to let your device have a rest, too. Stay off it. You can always set
an alarm. Duh.
3. Travel by other means.
Weekly Goal Idea:
a) Bike, skateboard, carpool, or walk to your next social gathering, work, or fitness establishment, one time each
week. Exercise is great and nature will show you awesomeness.
b) Opt to have your next group get-together in one of the many parks around town. Nature has her own light
sources. Use them to dance beneath instead of electric party lights. Who says you can't hang a mini, mirrored ball
from a tree branch for a few hours? (Be kindly creative and don't puncture holes in my tree friends, please. Nails
hurt you. Nails hurt them, too.)
If you take a little time to think and research why these suggestions are helpful or harmful, it just may give you a better understanding of your importance as a drop in a vast ocean. Together, we destroy or we create. A positive approach to either choice is encouraged.
Our earth is the home of many. Respect it. Take care of it. Appreciate what's offered.
